4th Eurisy participation in the annual Committee of the Regions' Open Days
October, Brussels, Belgium
This month the Committee of the Regions accepted Eurisy's application to organise an event within the Open Days
2009: a major event gathering over 7000 participants from regions every year.
Eurisy associated in the consortium which will organise the event with the Assembly of European Regions (AER), Békés
County Government Office (Hungary), County of Karlovac (Croatia), Gorj County Council (Romania), Lycksele
Municipality (Sweden) and Norrbotten County Council (Sweden), as well as the European Satellite Operators
Association (ESOA) and the European Space Agency (ESA), .
This workshop, entitled "Boosting regional economies by investing in and using innovative satellite information and
services", will demonstrate, mainly via good practice presentations from regions, that satellite services can be used by
regions with substantial economic benefits.
A programme for the event will be released shortly.

A seguito della entusiasmante risposta ai precedenti concorsi per assegnare il nome alle missioni degli astronauti europei, il Direttorato per i voli spaziali umani dell'ESA ancora una volta offre ai cittadini europei l'opportunità di essere parte virtuale di una missione spaziale, suggerendo un nome per la missione dell'astronauta dell'ESA Christer Fuglesang sulla Stazione Spaziale Internazionale.

ESA pavilion "L'Europe de l'Espace, Space for Earth" at the 48th Paris Air Show

The 48th International Paris Air Show will take place from 15 to 21 June at Le Bourget. The ESA Pavilion "L'Europe de l'Espace, Space for Earth" will be located in its usual place between the full scale models of the Ariane 1 and Ariane 5 launchers.
